Common Questions
How is this different from Adobe Illustrator Image Trace?
Illustrator uses "potracing" (isolating varying thresholds of luminosity). This is great for black-and-white logos but terrible for photos or complex patterns, resulting in jagged "blobs". Our engine uses a honeycomb mesh that understands gradients and texture, creating output closer to a manual recreation.
Will the file work with my RIP software?
Yes. We specifically engineered the output to be "boring" in terms of code structure—no complex filters, masks, or proprietary hacks. It is standard SVG 1.1 that works with Caldera, Onyx, EFI Fiery, and Wasatch.
What is the "Residual Tile" layer?
Some textures (dry brush, wool knit) need millions of vector points to look good, which crashes printers. In these specific small areas, we inject a high-res transparency-aware raster tile. You get vector edges where it matters, and texture detail where it counts.
Is my data trained on?
No. User uploads are processed ephemerally. We do not use your patterns to train our models. Your intellectual property remains yours.
What is the maximum file size?
We support uploads up to 50MB and 100 Megapixels. For larger files, please use our Enterprise API.
